About the Event

The Day of Ashes — is a day of repentance, when Christians confess their wrongdoings and profess our devotion to God. Ash Wednesday is important because it marks the start of the Lenten period leading up to Easter, when we believe Jesus was resurrected. The ashes symbolize both death and repentance. During this period, we show repentance and mourning for our wrongdoings , because we believe Christ died for us.
