About the Event
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and the Sunday before Easter Sunday. It is a commemoration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, coming in peace and riding on a donkey in fulfilment of Old Testament prophecy. Crowds of followers and supporters lined the road into Jerusalem and laid palm fronds before Jesus. Their joy is driven by a belief that the long-awaited Messiah will soon overturn the tyrannical overlords of Rome, bringing an end to evil and ushering in an age of peace, prosperity and holiness.
